Introduction
Since its inception in 1983, the Goa State Council for Science & Technology (GSCST) was under the administrative control of the Department of Science, Technology and Environment, Govt. of Goa.
After attaining Statehood, the Council was reconstituted and the Council is headed by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Goa, who is the Chairman of the Governing body of the Council and the Vice Chairman is the Minister for Science & Technology. The Executive Committee of the Council is headed by the Chief Secretary, Govt. of Goa (GoG).
Since the establishment of Goa State Council for Science & Technology, wherein the State Government accorded the status of a Registered Society to the Council, in the year 1993, GSCST plays a prominent role & shouldered the major responsibility in development of the their newly created Department of Science, Technology & Environment in the State of Goa, by organizing various activities / programmes to fulfil its mandate.
During all these years the State Council worked towards the achievement of its objectives through implementing projects in the following areas.
Ø Popularization of Science & Environment Awareness.
Ø Water Resource management
- IPR awareness
Ø Socio-economic Development.
- Research, Design & Development
The governing body is the apex body of the Council and the following are its members:
